The KIPPO Foreign Correspondent Press Tour ?????? ??????
Five times every year, the KIPPO Press Tour is conducted for foreign correspondents in Tokyo in order to provide them with opportunities to have direct contact and obtain information on a number of aspects including some of Kansai’s most successful companies and venture capital firms, as well as its traditions, culture and history. Each gathering is intended for some 20 to 25 correspondents and allows them to visit and cover the 9 prefectures of Kansai. Since its nascent beginnings in 1994, the press tour has been conducted on several dozen occasions.
Those foreign correspondents taking part use the coverage they are provided on the press tour to write articles, take photos and obtain footage that eventually finds its way in some form or another to the four corners of the earth. The KIPPO press tours have quite a favorable reputation among foreign correspondents in Tokyo because they give them a chance to cover news items and topics directly that they would otherwise have difficulty approaching if still in Tokyo.
