is a guide to readily available delicious Kansai waters.

The Izumi area has come to be known as a land of springs thanks to the many natural
springs that have existed there since ancient times. This natural water bubbles
up from some 3,000 feet underground, hence the name. It contains a variety of
minerals as well as radon.

Sweet Water of Iwama - Shiga Prefecture

This amazing and noble water bubbles up between rocks from a point some 2,000
feet underground at the foot of Mt. Iwama in the Mt. Otowa range. The source of
this natural well water is Otsu City, which is famous for its scenic beauty.

Gorogoro Waters - Nara Prefecture

This water flows from the Goyomatsu limestone cave near the Doro River in Tenkawa
Village, a place notable for its karst topography. It was considered ñwater
of the godsû?that flowed from a place believed to be sacred by the Shugendo
sect of Buddhism and has been designated by the Environment Agency as one of Japan's
100 select fine waters.

Water of Uriwari - Fukui Prefecture

This famous water, which bubbles forth deep in the forest of Tentokuji Temple,
contains a nice balance of natural minerals. The source of the water is Uriwari
Waterfall, which has been designated by the Environment Agency as one of Japan's
100 select fine waters.

Guardian of the Forest -Mie Prefecture

This water is from the Mt. Odaigahara range, which at some 4,000 mm per year receives
Japan's heaviest precipitation. The source is Miyagawa Village, nestled in the
mountains and still 97% forested.

This mineral water naturally flowing from a spring at the foot of Mt. Daimonji
is bottled without additives at the source. It contains many minerals and other
elements, including radon, carbonic acid ions, and calcium ions.

Kobe Water -Hyogo Prefecture

This natural water rich in minerals is purified naturally as it seeps through
the granite of Mt. Rokko to a point 800 meters below the surface, a process that
takes several months.

This pure water gushes forth from between rocks on Mt. Gomadan, which at 1,372
meters is known as the Roof of Kishu. Packed in cartons after heat treatment only,
the water is a pure and natural water.
