The train platform and waiting rooms on both sides were built in a minimum amount of space. The simple design using bent, corrugated steel plates takes into consideration snow accumulation.

All facilities are built underground, and the soil-covered roof is planted and used as a park. The architectural design allows in sunlight and breezes to save energy and harmonize with nature.

The cubic-curved-surface roof over a very slender building resembles the curves of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. The design allows in natural light and breezes through glass walls and roof slits.

The unique dome-shaped wooden roof using laminated wood trusses and structural plywood covers the platform and elevated crossing of the San-in main line. San-in main line. The design is based on Kyoto's traditional gate style.

Modeled after the elliptical shape of Osaka Bay, the dome was built using special methods to symbolize a "flight to the future" concept based on a 5-degree to Osaka bay.

This building joins the Hanshin Expressway and JR Namba Station in a multilevel transportation space that also provides access to Kintetsu-rail-way subway line. The complex is the nucleus for new city center functions.
