Dams The concrete used in Hiyoshi Dam - water storage, other use, flood prevention

The concrete used in Hiyoshi Dam
Conventional dams are built using concrete transported in by dump truck, spread by bulldozer, and compacted by vibrating rollers. Hiyoshi Dam was built using a new method that is safe, quick, and economical. In addition, it did not require the long-distance transport of stones (aggregate) as concrete material, because of using materials from nearby mountains. This effective use of resources is an important environmental consideration.
